043 - DJ QBert x Reloop RP-7 Turntable

Tonight, on October 21st, the M and Show went to Rosemont and Adobe Gilas as the big homie, KC had another USDJ Chicago Meetup, this time with DJ QBert and DJ Don Carlo. Hosted by World DMC Champ DJ QBert, we joined a myriad of Chicago DJs, from DJ Speed to DJ Marz of Charizma, for a demonstration of the new Reloop RP-7, 7” Turntable, as well as the newest speakers from BassBoss, which were officially released on 10/10/2025. This was one of the first opportunities in the country for anyone to hear these live, and called the Sublim8 Column Loudspeakers. These were sick!

USDJN, BassBoss, and Reloop did it properly at Adobe Gilas. Not only did we get to hear amazing sound quality and hear DJ QBert and DJ Don Carlo, who set the room up brilliantly, but we were also able to network with so many DJs in Chicago and beyond. DJ Speed, Marz of Charisma, Ryan of 4Sure, Tavares (MC and also fellow WHS alum), Tim “Spinning” Schommer, and many more were in attendance. It is great to see what KC has built here with USDJN. One of the highlights, for me, was that I met many of these people when I department-managed a Guitar Center, Highland Park location, and eventually was promoted to GC Pro on Halsted Street in Chicago. Ryan Levin texted me, “So happy I saw you, bro! You helped me get my PRX615s!” He is naturally talking about speakers, lol, however, it was great to see so many familiar faces.
DJ Don Carlo did a great job warming the crowds up in an open-format style that had a little something for everyone. Here is a little snippet of what he brought below.
Nisha and I had a great time, especially as this meetup was in an area of Rosemont, IL that is just fun to be in for an evening! I highly recommend these meetups for all who work in the industry, are trying to come up, or just want to be part of something as it grows and builds.
