034 - DJ Misjah In The Mix
Who is DJ Misjah?
For one, he is one of my favorite DJs, Producers, and Mastering Engineers. Yet, let’s see what Wiki has to say:
Mischa van der Heiden (born 1 September 1971, Rotterdam), commonly known by his stage name DJ Misjah, is a Dutch DJ.

DJ Misjah In The Mix
I can easily say my favorite two Dutch DJs in the world are DJ Misjah and Steve Rachmad, the latter who I had the pleasure of bringing to Chicago for one of the Gramaphone Showcases (Default_One-Five), which was a mid-week make-up show, as Steve was stuck in an Airport during the Saturday show where Rino Cerrone (RIP) rocked out an extended DJ Set. That night in 2003 (for which you can find a event flier photo in the Gallery), I performed my first Live PA from the Metro main stage. I never had the chance to bring DJ Misjah to Chicago, however, somewhere on one of the social media platforms I had become connected to him as I had always dreamt of getting my original music mastered by him.
In 1995, he produced "Access" with DJ Tim, which would be featured along with the Warp Brothers, MDM, and several others on the album, Radikal Techno 6. The track reached #16 in the UK Singles Chart in March 1996, and reappeared in a remix version in May 2000, when it peaked at #45. In 2025, it was remastered by Mischa himself (he is a mad talented polymath) on Planet Rhythm, which I have embedded below. I used to bump this record, albeit a little “stirred” and not smoothly, in all my after-hours sets at the frat house, while I was learning how to mix. This tune is epic.
Blast to 2024, I remember being inundated with school, yet reading a message from the artist directly to click to ‘download a ZIP file of MITM”. I had no idea what that meant then as I was inundated with school and techno music was the last thing on my mind. Today, blast forward to mid October in 2025, I downloaded the treasure trove (from a backup drive) of over 40 hour-long DJ mixes from one of the veteran, tenured legends I look up to in this DJ game of mixing techno music flawlessly.
