072 - After The Water
VICTORY
There is a moment people do not talk about enough. Not the anticipation, not the act itself, but what happens immediately after. When the water settles, when the noise fades, and when there is no audience left to witness anything. Just you again. Baptism is often described as a cleansing, a rebirth, a public declaration, and it is all of those things, but what it really does, if taken seriously, is remove your excuses. Before, you could point to the past, to circumstances, to timing, to the weight of everything that built up over the years. Afterward, the language disappears because you have now decided in full awareness. Not casually, not passively, not someday. Now. That is the part people underestimate, the accountability that follows transformation, the quiet responsibility that replaces the emotional high.
You do not get to go back to operating the same way, not because someone is watching, but because you are. And once you see clearly, it becomes difficult to tolerate misalignment. This is where most people drift. They chase the feeling of the moment instead of honoring the meaning of it. They want the symbolism without the structure that must follow, but real change is not sustained by emotion; it is sustained by decisions repeated when the feeling is gone. That is the work now. Not dramatic, not visible, not loud, but consistent, disciplined, intentional. If there is a full circle, it is not that everything resets; it is that everything becomes clear. The patterns, the habits, the environments, the people, the compromises. And once seen, they cannot be unseen. So the question is no longer what just happened. It becomes what are you going to do differently now that you know, because the water did not change your life, your decisions after it will.
Iโm embedding โEVERYTHINGโ by M.I.A. here because it carries the kind of spiritual weight and surrender that matches where this moment lands for me. When I started โTha Werdโ in 2005, my dream was to have an influence on music, where artists had a positive message rather than a Luciferian hidden one. Today, I learned about this. Check out the lead visualizer from her upcoming album M.I.7, releasing April 17, 2026. Multiple music outlets are describing the album as a gospel-leaning or prayer-rooted project tied to Christian themes, Revelation, and the Ark of the Covenant. I am going to get this on vinyl too.
Today is actually my birthday, and this year I cannot help but reflect on how much Godโs hand has been present in my life. I was baptized yesterday, followed by lunch at Truth Barbecue, and the timing felt too precise to ignore. It was as if the pain had been measured out just as carefully as the redemption that followed. We did not have family or friends there to witness it, but even in that, provision showed up exactly when it was needed. Someone stepped in at the right moment, and that alone said everything. God always provides, even when it looks like something is missing. We carried a lot into that day, not just emotionally but literally, bags, clothes, everything that comes with transition, and somehow it all came together. Big shout-out to him.
